An Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement is a statement or policy stating the purpose of an employer’s effort to meet occupational health and safety standards in the workplace. These are not the same as the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employers are not required to comply with this act. Therefore, it is up to the employer to develop this policy to comply with the law.

An HRSA may also include any health and safety regulations that are prescribed by regulations issued by the HHS. The costs incurred by an employer for the issuance of these regulations are known as the costs of the HHS. Many of these regulations are specified in the AHOS which provides cost savings on the costs of regulations. For example, an AHOS would specify the requirements for the company to make the minimum requirements for the “Automated Process Equipment” including compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards. Since the AHOS is jointly authored by the United States and the Health and Human Services, the costs of creating these regulations will be shared by the federal government and private industries.

The AHOS may contain certain clauses that are defined as HHS tasks. The task may refer to an actual Health and Safety regulation or work practice, or an outline of what must be done to meet the Federal Minimum Standards. Other tasks may refer to a requirement for this regulation. The purpose of the task is to describe the regulations that must be met. This should be clearly defined in the health and safety policy statement.

The employer intends to assess the intent of the law. An employer can be in breach of an AHOS if the intentions of the law are not followed. The purpose of this is to establish the intent of the employer and to support the judgment of the employer. The law intends to govern the employer’s intent.

The HHS may include regulations regarding advertising standards for safety equipment, established health and safety restrictions, the requirements for ergonomics and the formulation of proposed standards to eliminate employment hazards. In the last analysis, the HHS is a statement of the purpose of the law. The intent of the law is the intent of the employer.
