The first one is the “Save the Date” – As an actor, you have to be able to communicate to your audience that you have strong feelings for your lover, so using this example you will try to play a character that is the “heartthrob” of your stage character. You will portray him as an attractive and secure young man who is somewhat nervous around the opposite sex. If you can communicate how romantic and strong you feel for him, your audience will understand that you are nervous and this makes you very vulnerable.

The next one is the “Deep Throat” – Your character will be portrayed as a skeptical, questioning, and a little pessimistic character. Although he isn’t someone that you would normally play, he is someone that your audience can identify with. His belief system is a bit of a wacky one, which makes him a foil to the character you are playing.

The “Duke” – The role you will be playing in the same type as the one played by the protagonist in the previous example. If your character is the Prince in this example, you will have to be able to play a sarcastic character who has the same qualities as the guy in the role. This character doesn’t take all the responsibility of the guy on the stage, but you will have to give them their chance to learn.

The “Harper” – The dramatic and serious role is the same as the character in the first example. You need to be able to play a character that isn’t afraid to show emotion and is strong. If you play an aggressive character, you can easily show those same emotions with your own intense and passionate performance.
