This example will include creating a simple table called the Header, with one row and one column for each of the files included in the table. Each header file includes the header information for each file, as well as the size of the file and which file was used to create the header. This example should be very easy to follow, however, you will want to save the file using Microsoft Excel and do not need to modify the header file.

First, we need to load the file into Excel and then use the “Open” menu and choose the file. Then, we use the search function to locate the header file, and then type in the exact name of the header file and press enter. The header should be loaded into the header.xls column and should have the option to open the header.xls header or not. After the header is loaded, we need to modify the header properties so that it is formatted properly for Excel.

Go to the “Data” tab of the Data Manipulation Chart and check the “Format Cells” box and then click the “Format Cells” button. The number of columns will determine how many times the columns are edited. The “Type” drop-down menu will choose the column type, and the “Fill” menu will choose the type of fill that is desired. For the “Description” you will want to use the “Text” tab and enter the formatted text and format that you want the file to have.

After you have formatted the header, go to the “Designer” tab and save it as an XSL file. The reason you save it as an XLS file is that it will have a different format from the tab-delimited text file. Save the file, and then open it using Excel.

Next, open Excel and go to the Data tab and then look at the header properties. You will notice that each row has an option for a specific format, but the column where the header is located is blank. You will then need to modify the header properties to give the header a format by clicking on the column header and then click on the Properties button.

This should bring up the Properties window. Here, you will want to type in the header format and the row format (Column 1 will have a default row format and Column 2 will have a blank column header) and then click on OK to make changes.

Click on the “Rows” button to show the Rows tab and then change the format for the column header. In the dialog box that opens, you will have the option to format the header as a single cell, or you can select “Number and Format” from the drop-down menu. Both formats will format the header the same, but it will look different and is for experimentation purposes only.
